How fast can I lose weight and how much?
After the first consultation we will have a better understanding of your body type, medical concerns, your basal metabolism, blood picture etc. basis which an individualized plan will be put in place which will be constantly monitored and modified based on progress.
Ideally a maximum 1.5-2 kg weight loss per month is recommended and achievable, which ensures that one loses body fat and not muscle mass.
Will I have to make drastic changes in my habits?
As a mindfulness expert I do not recommend drastic lifestyle changes or fad diets, as these are not sustainable. The program is designed around understanding your likes and dislikes and to make sure it is as easy to follow as possible.
The recommended plan is a made after taking feedback from the client and takes into consideration the client’s current lifestyle, work schedule, family eating patterns etc.
We also provide support via whatsapp through the consultation period in order to address day-to-day challenges in meeting the goals we set together.
The main goal is to maintain a positive relationship between mind and body so that both work together to achieve the desired and sustainable results over the long term. Therefore, we put more emphasis on having a positive experience throughout the process rather than just numbers on weighing scale which we believe shows lasting results.
WILL THE PLAN INTERACT / HAVE SIDE EFFECTS WITH MY MEDICATION?
We will be taking this information on the first call itself and the entire plan is put in place keeping the type and timing of medication. Further, we do not recommend any medication. If any concerns are felt during the call which require medical intervention, we will advise you to check with your treating physician.
What all information will I need to provide to have a fruitful consultation?
You will need to provide general information such as age, weight, height etc. and underlying medical conditions, if any. Also, if you have got any blood tests done, it would help to have the reports handy and we will be able to formulate an individualized plan and you will save one consultation.
Can I lose weight only by diet, as I do not like to exercise?
A combination of dietary modification and exercises have shown the most long- lasting results in managing health. Many other factors such as stress, sleep etc. also contribute to the overall results therefore, a balance of mind and body is recommended for achieving long term goals and maintaining a good quality of life.
Is nutrition counselling covered by my insurance?
Many private medical insurance plans cover nutrition counselling by a Registered Nutritionist/Dietitian. Check your plan to see what is covered for you.
Since every insurance company has different policies, please be sure to check with them regarding nutritionist coverage per session and per year. We do not direct bill to insurance companies.
